30 Day Challenge – The Idea
I’m a big believer in setting yourself a fitness challenge in order to keep you motivated to exercise. It’s important to have health and fitness goals to work towards. I completed my epic cycle around Ireland 4 weeks ago and I’ve been in limbo exercise wise since then as I’ve had no specific target to aim for.
Check out the below video for more on the 30 day challenge I’ve set for myself. How can you challenge yourself? 30 days is a short enough time frame to make your goal achievable and it’s long enough for it to start becoming a routine if you are dedicated to it.
For some people an immediate goal might be diet and weight loss. What realistic targets can you set yourself to lose weight in a 30 day period? Can you set yourself a 30 day workout challenge and match that with an appropriate diet and nutrition plan?
Specific workout challenges and workout plans can be tailored for a 30 day period. If you want to concentrate on a specific area such as abs then do you know what the best ab workouts are? Can you document and stick to a 30 day ab challenge? Do you need to break your challenge into 24 hour fitness blocks so you can work on a different area each day?
There’s plenty more challenges out there and Google can give you some answers and ideas but it’s always best to seek advice from a qualified professional before you start. Check out my vlog to see what my 30 day challenge looks like:
I'll use before and after measurements to gauge the success of the challenge as well as assessing my overall wellbeing at the end of the 30 days. More on that in future posts. In my next video I'll go in to detail on the preparation.
Challenge yourself. Feel the motivation, stick with it and reap the rewards.
Yours in health, Brian
